Love the Bklyn bento box
Love the Bklyn bento box! Sturdy construction, and just the right size to pack on long trips, or to work.
Great product... my son LOVES it!!
Get that one nice lunchbreak meal in a box!
Great little guy to pack your meals in for that long day at work. Makes you feel like an 80s construction worker.
Perfect size! The 3 compartments are perfect to make husband a healthy lunch while helping to prevent eating too much. I loved it so much I ordered a 2nd!!! Great product
Love, love love it!
Great bento box. Exact size easy to clean and carry, Minimalist, great
Would have gave it a 5 star if it were a smidge bigger
Really(!) like using this to minimize the use of ziplock plastic bags for my daily lunches. It fits a “regular” size sandwich quite snugly (sandwich consists of 2 slices of oat nut bread, couple leafs of greens, slice of cheese and some meat). At the suggestion of another reviewer my wife wraps my sandwich in a paper towel in orders to minimize the effects of condensation (she packs my lunch the night before and puts it in the fridge). In the smallest section (top) she slices some baby dill pickles in half lengthwise in order for them to fit and in the middle she packs slices of fruit or some cookies. The box fits nicely in the backpack which I use to transport my laptop and work papers to and fro daily to work. Really like it, just wish it were a smidge bigger
I love it, nice sturdy, great for fruits and salads.. Good for just about anything..
Excellent box for meal prep and portion control. After using for a few months I see the quality of the steel as excellent. No rusting or issues.
Beautifully packaged, and sturdy design.
Disclaimer: I haven't used it yet! It's still sitting in its box, slowly being decorated with stickers.. but I don't need it yet. This thing came packaged well -- a small plastic bag was around it to keep it from getting dinged, and that bag was inside a little cardboard box with no wiggle-room. So... I was able to pull out a shiny, scratch-free, fingerprint-free (not for long, because it's so shiny, fingerprints show up!), delightful little Tiffin box. It's definitely well-made, and comes with some nice info. If you haven't read the story of Bklyn Bento, I'd encourage you to do some research! They've got some pretty neat beginnings. It looks big enought to hold all the food I might need, though I won't truly know until next month when I use it! Anywho, I'd encourage you to support this company. They seem cool, and make a good product. :)
Love this lunchbox!
Such an excellent product
I bought this to help me make my lunches at work easier, and this thing really came through! the quality of the product is obvious, it just feels really nice in your hands. it works great, too. i keep snacks in the top tray and my lunch items in the 2 others. it really helps me with portion control, which is my biggest issue, lol. would for sure buy again.
Great bento box
Great bento box. Super durable . I have had issues with the hooks staying closed on some other products but this one is perfect. Highly recommend
Great product, quick delivery. Literally does what it says on the tin.
Beautiful with limited functionality
I bought this "bento box" to use for myself for carrying lunches to work. In reality, it is more of a tiffin than a bento box. A tiffin is an Indian steel container used for transporting curries. Indeed, the packaging mentions that these containers are manufactured in India. Traditionally, tiffins are round, and honestly, you're better off buying a traditional round tiffin. Why? Leaks. Circular shapes are better at containing liquids and oils. Because this tiffin is more squareish, broths and oils will actually almost pour out of its corners if it's tilted. The sellers stress that this product is not meant to be liquid-tight. However, it is actually remarkably less liquid-tight than a basic round tiffin. Anyway, when I received it, one of the fasteners was loose. The sellers have a YouTube channel, however, that instructs you in how to bend a loose clip into a snug fit. I did a decent job of it. The clip is slightly crooked now, but it holds fast. Again however, due not just to the steel construction but also the square shape, the tiffin spills liquids as soon as it's tilted even when both clips are tightened. The top compartment has about a half an inch of space and is almost completely useless for anything other than carrot slices, nuts, or crackers. It was designed for naan bread. I don't eat much naan bread. It takes some precious space away from the middle container, limiting its utility as well. You can't opt not to use it, however, without permanently adjusting the clips. All layers must be used at all times. The box itself is quite pretty. I now have the most fashionable lunchbox in my office. And in truth, a traditional lunchbox would be less liquid-tight and only slightly more accommodating for dry food. The construction is sturdy and sound. If I could do it over, I would buy a different type of food container--probably a two-tier round tiffin. As it is, I have a very attractive lunchbox with a space for my lunch, a space for maybe some bread and a cheese-stick, and a shallow pan that holds a few crackers. Soups, stews, curries, sauces, etc. must be carried in a separate jar.
We love this bento box but…
This is the perfect bento box. We love using it for our little one's meals. It's eco-friendly and the perfect size, with well thought out layers/compartments, which a child or adult would find ideal. Unfortunately, a year later, the handle on one side of the box is loose and won't close properly, so we're using a rubberband to keep it together, which is why I've removed a star.
Great for sandwiches and fruit!
I use this for sandwiches and fruit in my 12 year old sons school lunches. A reusable sporf fits in the top with a napkin. Salad dressing leaks. We use it with a cloth lunch sack. We hand wash it or put it in the top rack of the dishwasher. It’s still shiny months later. No rust, but I don’t soak it in the sink.
Bought it for my son for daycare, and loved it so much I bought one for myself!
Very well made Bento box.
I bought this box for a grandson for Christmas at his request. He has a plastic Bento box which was dropped & is cracked. This stainless box is very well made & will not crack. My only request & the reason I took one star off is that I would have liked it to be bigger. Bento boxes are cool.
A great alternative to plastic tupperware!
I use this for my lunches and it works great for portioning out fruits and keeping them separate from your actual meal. However, as of 3 months of use, one of the metal "flaps" became loose, but still held the containers in place, we'll just see how long they last.
Great eco friendly product, but…
Great product, but I wish I could use the containers individually. It would also be nice if it were leak proof.
Perfect for lunches
I bought this for my son’s lunches for kindergarten, and he loves it! It’s easy to open and close, and the different levels are great. Cleans perfectly in the dishwasher.
Free from plastic, very stylish!
Excellent product. My 11 year old uses it for school lunch. It’s very cool looking and her teachers at lunch are always checking out her lunch containers and contents since she eats so healthy. It fits the large freezeable lunch box by Pack It. I’ve only handwashed it but it’s nice to know it can go in the dishwasher for those days I’m too busy to hand wash some items. It fits a sandwich in the largest container with a cheese stick and carrots. Middle container holds small strawberries. Top thinnest container holds her napkin, ketchup packet and a wet wipe packet. We like it!
Great for dry food!
I really like it, the compartments are a great size. However it did leak a bit when i used it to bring cut up fruit to work (pineapple, watermelon, kiwi)
Absolutely 5 out of 5! I bought this bento box for my 2 y.o. daughter and it is amazingly design and just beautiful! I will definitely recommend and I will definitely buy one for myself and my husband. Awesome job making an awesome eco friendly bento box!
Enough food for my teen
The bento box is sturdier than I thought. It fits in many insulated lunch bags that I already own and still leaves room for a water bottle and ice packs. It packs enough for for a hungry teen's lunch (not an easy feat)
Great Bento Box option for daily lunches
Love this Bento Box because it keeps my lunch compact without the clunkiness of my usual lunch bag containing two or three different containers that create bulk and take up too much space. Each of the layers are a bit shallow, but I do have enough room to fit a full meal. I also appreciate that it's more durable than glass, safer than plastic, and dishwasher safe!
Good quality stainless steel. Has some heft to it -- not thin and flimsy like some other boxes. One of the latches was loose, but I gave it a little bend with a pair of pliers, and now it closes tightly. I'm very happy with my purchase.
I saw a lots bad views on eco lunchbox
100% satisfaction. Customer service is great too!
Great container - highly recommended
I really like this product on a number of levels. It's really well made, fits together perfectly, and its just the right size for a variety of lunches that I take to work everyday, or my son takes to school. I will be purchasing more for sure so that we can both have one! Cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher and is not too heavy, so it's good to pack on walk/hike. The second reason is that I have a great feeling about this company. Inside the beautiful packaging was their story and an opportunity to donate a meal to someone in need. This is the future of successful business, a company with a soul and a strong sense of craftsmanship and ethics. Look forward to more products in the future. =)
I have wanted a stainless steel bento box for a long time, and I am so glad I waited until I found Bkyln Bento! The quality is spot on and the size is great! I am a vegan and eat lots of veggies, which can take up space this bento box is perfect for that.
It’s a nice heavy stainless steel and I think it will hold …
Just got it in the mail the other day and will be using it for my lunch at work today. It’s a nice heavy stainless steel and I think it will hold up well.
This is an awesome item that streamlines lunch packing
This is an awesome item that streamlines lunch packing. It definitely has a cool factor, and it cuts down on wasteful and expensive packaging. The top compartment makes a great plate, too!
The best stainless steel lunch box.
This is the best lunch box you can imagine. Fits well in most lunch bags. Though you may not be able to reheat in microwave, the food is warm and tastes better than reheated in a plastic food container. Very safe.
4.5 Stars..I love it, this is why.
Aesthetically, I love this bento box, my 5 yr. old loves this bento box. (5 stars) I did a lot of research before the purchase. We received it last night. I just love it. Ok. for the review. It's awesome, the closure hinge are tight enough for adults and for my 5 yr old. The 3 compartments are well designed and tight enough to keep food in it's place. It's stainless steel, easy to clean. The bento box is for my 5yr old daily lunch and snack at school. We haven't used it yet and looking forward to it. I will update this review and attach pictures. For now I will give it, 4.5 stars. Here is why; we have bought other leak proof bento boxes but seriously those things are way to big and after a few uses and wear ability they start to leak. we need practically and durability. It's steep to buy a bento box for 25+ and then its just another food container taking space. I'm really rooting for BKLYN bento box to work for us. I like their purpose and charity work. I'm sure my son will have his opinion and review on his first week of school (.5 star), I think he gets it from his mom
These are great bento boxes. My boys bring them to school and all their classmates think they are so cool. They aren't huge but they work perfectly for my 4 and 6 year old. I love that they are dishwasher safe and not plastic. I was using yumbox previously and the silicone got moldy! These should last a long time. I had a problem with one of the latches being too loose so I contacted the company and they responded immediately. They even made a video and posted it to their Facebook page on how to fix the problem. Seeing that a company actually stands behind their product makes me love these boxes even more. These fit into a lunch box perfectly with plenty of room for a water bottle and ice pack. This is not leakproof and does not have individual compartments within each tray so I get creative with separating food. I don't often pack a sandwich (the bottom tray is the perfect size for this!) so I pack different foods into little silicone baking cups and I buy single serving yogurt tubes. I fill the middle tray with fruit and vegetables and the top container with crackers, pretzels, dried fruit or trail mix. The top tray is my least favorite, the size is very limiting. One time I put tortilla chips in there and when I put the cover on I heard them all crunching. Lol My son didn't care though. If you want to get plastic out of your children's lives, please consider giving this bento box a shot!
I love my Bklyn Bento box! It's every bit as sturdy and adorable as the pictures. Cleaning it has been a breeze -- just a quick dunk in the dishwater at the end of the day. When it arrived, it seemed smaller than I expected, but the size is deceptive. It holds a lot of food -- more than I really need for lunch on an average day -- so it's taking some practice to figure out how to pack it properly without bringing home leftovers at the end of the day. So far, I've been able to pack an apple (sliced into wedges), a handful of almonds, some dried dates and apricots, and a few chunks of cheese in the bottom tier; an amply-sized pasta salad and some lentils in the middle tier; and some crackers and a cookie in the top tier. For a second I thought my metal fork and spoon and a paper napkin might fit into the top tier, but the curve of the utensils makes them a smidge too tall for that. (That's okay; more room for cookies!) The only thing lacking is a tiny dish to separate messy things. (I don't like it when my hummus slides onto my chips because it makes them soggy.) Some similar products sported divided compartments, but their tight corners looked like they might be tricky to keep clean, so I chose Bklyn Bento's simpler design instead. I'm still totally satisfied with my purchase, and now I'm enjoying "accessorizing" my bento box with tiny containers. Nice job, Bklyn Bento!
Great for lunches
I love this for my lunches. It gets boring making lunches and my Bento box really makes it easier, not just with packing but with ideas...wraps, salads, snacks on top, fruit for dessert. Wonderful.
They hold way more than you’d think!
We bought three of these recently and while we’ve only used them a couple of times, we love them! At first I was wishing one of the sections had a divider but now I’m glad they don’t. It offers more flexibility to not have a fixed divider and we use those little silicone baking cups when we really need items separated. My only suggestion would be to design a bag where the box can remain upright versus sideways. This is the reason I didn’t buy the bags. My kids either use a small handled reusable shopping type bag, their insulated BUILT brand lunch bags or they just toss the box directly in their backpacks.
the best bento/ tiffin box i've owned
Holy sh!t! the best bento/ tiffin box i've owned. super sturdy and good quality. big enough for a ton of food. a bit heavy but it's the trade off for going no-plastic. Latches easily, washes nicely. I love it and would buy it again. I actually want a few more to take to picnics. Highly recommend!!!
Eco perfect and easy for kids to use. Will buy again!!
Creative alternative to plastic lunch container
I fell in love with the Bklyn Bento box when my colleague brought her lunch to work in it; I ordered it from Amazon immediately!
I LOVE this box!! I pack my daughter's breakfast and lunch in this daily. We got it at the beginning of the school year and it has held up beautifully. No leaks. It fits SO MUCH food and it is so easy to clean.
I absolutely love this stainless steel lunch box
I absolutely love this stainless steel lunch box! It actually fits a decent amount of food and it's a fairly good size! It fits perfectly in my small leather backpack with a mason jar as well! It's easy to clean and holds liquids pretty well too. Definitely would recommend this product!
big and shiny
Perfect, sustainable bento box
I love this bento box. It’s making me more creative with my lunches. I typically take salad on the bottom, a protein in the middle and sliced almonds on top. The top part doesn’t hold a lot. But I still like it. This company is fantastic! Very high-quality products and beautiful, sustainable designs.
It's the perfect size in a conveniently stackable system to house my food choices.
Ron Swanson would approve
To keep things short and sweet. I love it. It's tough, sustainable, and it has plenty of room for snacks.
I love these! They are holding up very well. They go in the dishwasher and don't rust at all, the kids love to have the different sections for their lunch! And it made me more creative with their lunches!
Love these. Form and function!
The pictures are accurate and it nicely stores several different snacking options for our kid.
Love this lunch box - you won't regret the purchase!
Such a great lunch box! High quality stainless steel and very easy to use. The size is absolutely perfect for my husband's lunch and even for family snacks while away from the house. The lock is very secure, we couldn't be happier with this purchase! Not the mention the company has excellent customer service and super cool branding.
